My Poetry

In writing we have been learning about poetry. Here are a few of mine:

Surf Beach 

Surfers battling for a wave 
My mum is telling my brother and me to behave 
The sand, so hot, so crisp, is burning the soles of my feet  
My mum finally lets us have a treat


He hit the ball so very high 
   It went so high it touched the sky
   He hit the ball so very high 
   It didn’t come down, he started to cry

Speech Finals

On Wednesday the school had speech finals. Every year group had three people that had great speeches. I was in the year six one. My speech topic was we are perfect the way we are. Here are a few photos of the people from room six that got into the finals.

Mixed Media Hands

 You hold the future in your hands. 

In Term 2 our Visual Arts focused was on Mixed Media. We finally finished our pieces of art at the end of the term. We started off by creating two hands, most of us copied our own hands as templates.  One hand represents our past and the other hand our future. We used lots of different materials and symbols to make our artwork as well as exploring a range of different techniques with watercolor paint. This is my art work.

Hockey

On Friday we had so much fun with Sport NZ as they came in to teach us hockey.  We got to do warm up and drills with the hockey sticks and played against each other in teams.  We are already looking forward to next Friday’s session. Here are a couple of pictures:
